This year, Spatula is developing Print for Pride, a new creative fundraising initiative supporting Bristol Pride.
With community events under increasing pressure, we’re exploring a different way to raise funds: one that brings people together, builds skills and creates something meaningful along the way.
Print for Pride is about using print, design and collective making to support Bristol Pride in a more hands-on way. Rather than fundraising sitting separately from the community, this project turns it into something people can take part in.
The idea is simple: create sustainable printed merchandise, run community printing sessions, and build a volunteer team around making, learning and supporting Pride.
From T-shirts and printed materials to badges, zines and other small-run items, Print for Pride will create new ways for people to contribute to Bristol Pride while also developing practical creative skills.
It is also about connection. Printing together gives people a reason to meet, talk, share ideas and make something that carries meaning beyond the object itself. A T-shirt, badge or print can become a memory of being there, a marker of support, and a way of carrying Pride beyond the day.
For Spatula, this is part of a wider commitment to community-powered media and creative access. We want to support projects that help people tell stories, share skills and build confidence through making.
Print for Pride is still at the beginning. We are shaping the project, testing ideas and bringing people together to help make it happen. The aim is for it to become a regular creative fundraising programme that supports Bristol Pride not just once, but year after year.
If you want to get involved, we’d love to hear from you.
Whether you’re interested in printing, design, events, fundraising, volunteering, or just want to be part of something practical and community-led, there will be ways to take part.
