Queer Zine Club is coming back.

Originally created as a space for queer people to come together through zine making, print, conversation and DIY publishing, Queer Zine Club has always carried the spirit of creative self-expression and community-led making.

Spatula is now supporting the club as it begins to return, helping bring it back to life and develop it into a regular programme.

Zines have a long connection to queer culture, protest and self-expression. They give people a way to tell stories on their own terms, outside of traditional media and without needing permission. Queer Zine Club builds on that history in a relaxed, practical and welcoming way.

Sessions may include zine making, collage, writing, badge making, printing, discussion and collaborative projects. You do not need to be an artist, designer or writer to take part. You can come with a clear idea, a half-formed thought, or no plan at all.

For Spatula, this is part of a wider commitment to community-powered media. We want to help create the conditions for people to access tools, develop skills and make work that feels useful, personal and connected.

It is a place to experiment, contribute and build something together.
