Clifton Suspension Bridge lights up for Bristol Pride
For Bristol Pride 2026, one of the city's most recognisable landmarks was illuminated in rainbow colours, made possible by the bridge's newly installed LED lighting system.
It was a wonderful moment for Bristol, and a real privilege for Spatula to be involved in documenting it.
A week before the public illumination on Pride Day, we were given a 20-minute window to capture the bridge in its rainbow colours. Working with a small collective of volunteer photographers and filmmakers, we coordinated locations, capturing the moment from the ground and the air.
It was a bit of an operation for such a short window, but a lovely example of what can happen when people come together, sharing their time, skills and equipment to make something possible.
There's something particularly special about seeing a landmark so closely associated with Bristol illuminated for Pride. A beautiful expression of the city, its people and the communities that make it what it is.
We're grateful to everyone who helped capture the occasion and to Bristol Pride for inviting us to be part of it.
